The Macaws, a project
sustainable*
In 1967 about 40 Oaxacan families of origin
chinanteco arrived in Chiapas to form a new
going population in the Lacandon Jungle. determined to
conserve the forest, they converted 60% of the territory in
ecological reserve and the rest devoted to activities
agriculture, including cocoa plantation
